Kitchen Remodel
1501 12th South
A closed-off kitchen opened into the dining and living space, with custom cabinetry, a long stone island and a built-in banquette for everyday meals.

Location
Germantown, Nashville
Project type
Historic Restoration
A full restoration of one of Germantown's surviving Victorian cottages, keeping the porch joinery and standing-seam roof while rebuilding what sat behind them.
Germantown holds some of the oldest surviving domestic architecture in Nashville, and this cottage carried most of its original detail: the bracketed porch with its pierced frieze, the metal roof, the brick, the panelled front door with its transom.
Restoration here meant keeping every one of those things while quietly rebuilding what had failed behind them. Structure, envelope and systems were brought up to standard, and elements too far gone to save were reproduced to match rather than replaced with the nearest available substitute.
Inside, the work runs from the tiled double-sided fireplace through to the joinery, all of it detailed to sit comfortably in a house of this age rather than announce itself as new.
Every project on this page was measured, made and installed by the same team.
