Kitchen Remodel
1501 12th South
A closed-off kitchen opened into the dining and living space, with custom cabinetry, a long stone island and a built-in banquette for everyday meals.

Location
Lockeland Springs, East Nashville
Project type
Addition + Renovation
An addition and full renovation of an East Nashville bungalow, adding the space the household needed without losing the craftsman detail that made the house.
Bungalows of this era are generous in character and mean with space. The household had outgrown the footprint but had no interest in leaving Lockeland Springs, which made an addition the obvious answer.
The new work was planned so the roof lines resolve honestly and the exterior reads as original from the street. Inside, the existing rooms were renovated alongside the addition so there is no seam between old and new: the same floor, the same trim profiles, the same ceiling heights carried through.
The fireplace, beams and original window openings were kept and made good, because they are the reason anyone buys a house like this in the first place.
Every project on this page was measured, made and installed by the same team.
